Your First Event

READY TO HEAD INTO THE APOCALYPSE?

Dystopia Rising is a Community of Players all interested in making sure you have a solid event, so let’s hook you up! The goal of the New Player Experience in DR: PNW is to provide as much information as possible so New Players, like yourself, feel prepared for your first Dystopia Rising Experience! Whether you’re a Veteran LARPer or Brand New to the hobby, we ask that you take the time to read over the Guide Book, to get a starting sense of this whole shebang!

STEP 1: guide BOOK!

Dystopia Rising has a our own Guide Book, which you can get as a Free PDF Download on DriveThruRPG! Its the best way for you to get a look at the kinds of options you have for building your First Character!
Don’t worry about having everything memorized before your first event, just start thinking about the Character you want to bring into our Post Apocalyptic World!

STEP 2: CHECK OUT THE COMMUNITY!

We understand the Guide Book is rather large, and that can be intimidating and confusing, especially to new LARPers, but we want to help! We have a wonderful and active Community Discord and Facebook Group, filled with Staff and Players alike who are eager and ready to help get you into the fun! Feel free to pop in and share any questions you have, and maybe even make some Character Ties before your first event!

Step Three: build your kit!

Every Survivor knows they’ve gotta have their Kit if they’re going to make it in the Wastes! Your “Kit” is Your Character, they way they dress, present, even the little bits and bobs tossed about to really show themselves off! Don’t worry about having everything you think you want for your design right out the gate, no one you see at our Events built their Characters’ Kits over night. Your Character’s design can be as simple or complex as you want it to be, so have fun! You can always add to, or even drop parts, later down the line.
In addition to your Character’s Kit, you’ll also need a Player Number, which will be tied to you and your characters. Your Player Number is used when you Purchase your Event Tickets, but you don’t need this before your First Event, as you can register on site, before the event begins, (Your First Event is also free!)

Step Five: Grab your ticket!

You’ve got the kit, you’ve got the date, now you need your ticket! As mentioned before, all New Players First Events are Free of Charge at Dystopia Rising PNW! We want you to be able to experience and Event and get the hang of things before having to worry about ticket fees. There’s a lot of things to learn and experiences to have, it can at times become overwhelming, and we find it’s an even higher burden of entry to worry about knowing everything, having a good time, and adding a ticket fee onto it all. So to make it all easier, First ones on us!
If you did create your Player Number ahead of time, head on over to our Shop to grab a ticket for our next event when those go live!

Step Six: Join us in the wastes!
