Conflict Resolution

While we all strive to be our best, there will enviably be times where we need help to solve a situation. When Conflict between Community Members needs that helping hand, we have our Conflict Resolution Team to assist. This team is made of Guides & Community Members, who are in the highest of standing in our community, and have received conflict resolution training to best be able to assist in situations where Community Members may need their help. This team works independently from Directors, both to preserve confidence in confidentiality and accountability to everyone in the community, regardless of position.


F.A.Q.

Q: So does the Conflict Resolution Team issue Corrective Actions without telling Directors?
A: No. While all Guides have the authority to issue Corrective Action Warnings during Dystopia Rising Events, all Corrective Actions are informed to Local Directors for proper records. Conflict Resolution is not here simply to issue Corrective Actions, but to help players seek a resolution to issues they may be having at events, either with other players, guides, or even directors.

Q: Why not just have Directors do this?

A: For a few reasons. One being to help Directors focus on their main duties, but also help alleviate some of the pressure some people may feel when approaching a director about a possible situation. While all Directors and Guides seek to not have our personal biases influence a situation, there may come a time where a situation is riddled with the potential for bias, and that may prevent someone from coming forward out of fear or concern. Having a diverse team trained and ready to help these situations helps to remove this barrier.

Q: So, how does all this work then?

Below there will be a form for you to reach out to the team with. Only the Conflict Resolution Team will have access to this email, no other Guides or Directors will have access, so the privacy of your conversations is secure with the team. The form will allow you to describe the situation you’d like to discuss/receive assistance with, as well as include the option to speak specifically with a certain team member if you prefer. From there, a team member will reach out to the contact email provided to continue the conversation.

A: Legal Disclaimer. Dystopia Rising PNW, and the Dystopia Rising PNW Conflict Resolution Team are not a legal authority, and cannot issue, nor enforce any legal solutions. Any solutions or assistance can only be enforced at Dystopia Rising PNW Events, and Dystopia Rising PNW run spaces, (ie. Discord, Facebook, etc.). As an Entertainment Company, we cannot and do not have the ability to regulate the behavior of individuals and their personal lives outside of our privately run event spaces, or public social media presences. We will however, uphold our Local and National Dystopia Rising Community Standards in our spaces, and ensure that Community Members are held to those standards.
